Planning and common questions

Review the project inputs before pricing.

Final requirements should be confirmed with the facility team, qualified project professionals, applicable material guidance, and the authority having jurisdiction.

What information should be reviewed before selecting a chemical storage container?

Start with the chemical inventory and safety data, then review container types, quantities, handling method, storage duration, site conditions, access needs, and facility requirements. Those inputs help define the appropriate configuration direction.

Can a chemical storage container be configured for IBCs and drums?

Yes. AEL can discuss interior layouts around the type of containers, loading process, access requirements, and containment approach needed for the project.

When is ventilation considered for chemical storage?

Ventilation considerations depend on the materials, the storage process, enclosure location, and project criteria. AEL reviews these variables during the configuration discussion.

How does AEL define the configuration direction?

Storage planning begins with the material inventory. AEL helps facilities move from a material list and site constraints to a containerized storage direction. The enclosure configuration can be shaped around IBC and drum handling, secondary containment, interior workflow, ventilation, and project-specific system options.
