These terms apply to your use of this website and to purchases made through our online store. The website and store are operated by Platinum Finishing Systems, doing business as AEL ("AEL", "we", "us"), 1402 Airport Blvd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, (888) 502-6695. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you are buying for a company, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.

Custom and engineered projects (for example walk-in enclosures, BESS enclosures, solvent processing rooms and storage buildings) are quoted individually. Those projects are governed by the written quotation or sales agreement for the project, which takes precedence over these terms where they differ.

Using this website

Content on this site is general information about our products. It is not engineering, code or legal advice for a specific installation.
Product images and descriptions show typical configurations. Actual products can differ in finish, options and details.
You may not misuse the site, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or copy site content for commercial use without our permission. Site content, logos and product names are owned by AEL or its licensors.

Terms of sale (online store)

Orders

Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept an order when we confirm it by email. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is unavailable, a price or description was shown in error, or we cannot ship to the delivery address. If we cancel, we refund any amount charged.

Prices

Prices are shown in US dollars and cover the product in its standard configuration. Freight and applicable sales tax are added at checkout as described below. We may change prices at any time; the price that applies is the one shown when you place your order.

Freight

Our cabinets ship by truck (LTL) freight to commercial addresses in the contiguous United States. Freight is a flat rate per cabinet, shown in the cart and at checkout: $1,500 for the Sentinel Mini 30 and Mini 40, and $2,000 for the Sentinel Mini 60 and Mini 80. The Sentinel Mini 100, custom sizes and parts without published pricing are quoted and are not sold through online checkout. Extra delivery services (for example liftgate or limited-access delivery) are quoted before shipment. See our Shipping Policy for details.

Lead times

Ships in 6–8 weeks for most models; custom units 8–10 weeks depending on size. In-stock units may be available but are not guaranteed. Lead times and delivery dates are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates.

Taxes

We currently collect California sales tax on orders delivered to California addresses. Orders delivered outside California are not charged sales tax at checkout; you are responsible for any use tax due where the product is delivered. If you are buying for resale or are tax-exempt, send your certificate before you order.

Payment

Payment, including freight and any sales tax, is due when you place your order, using the payment methods offered at checkout, unless we agree other terms in writing. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card number.

Delivery, title and risk

We ship to addresses in the United States only. Delivery dates are estimates. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the order is delivered to the address you gave us. You (or someone you authorize) must inspect the shipment at delivery and note any visible damage on the delivery receipt, as described in our Shipping Policy.

Returns and warranty

Returns, cancellations and refunds are covered by our Returns & Refunds policy: standard products may be returned within 30 days of delivery subject to a restocking fee of 10% of the product price or $500, whichever is greater, freight is non-refundable, and custom units are final sale. Products carry the one-year limited Warranty against manufacturer defects; electrical and other third-party components are covered by their manufacturers' warranties.

Battery storage products: safety and scope

AEL does not claim or guarantee that any Sentinel, Sentinel Mini, EnergyCube or BESS product, or any other AEL enclosure or cabinet, will prevent thermal runaway, fire or explosion. These products are designed to help contain and manage the risks of storing lithium-ion batteries and battery energy storage systems and to support code compliance. You are responsible for proper installation, for following our instructions and the battery manufacturer's guidance, and for obtaining approval from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). AEL is not responsible for loss of or damage to stored batteries or other contents, or for damage caused by them.

Installation, codes and safe use

You are responsible for selecting a product suitable for your application, and for siting, installing, operating and maintaining it according to our instructions and applicable codes. Requirements for battery storage, hazardous locations and flammable or chemical storage vary by jurisdiction. Confirm requirements with your authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), fire department and insurer before installation. Do not modify a product in a way that affects its construction, ratings or labeling.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows: (a) except for the written warranty we provide, products and this website are provided without other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose; (b) AEL is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, loss of use or loss of stored property; and (c) our total liability for any claim relating to a product or order is limited to the amount you paid for that product. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sonoma County, California, unless the law requires otherwise.

Other terms

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. We may update these terms; the version posted when you place an order applies to that order.
