EnergyCube custom BESS enclosures for battery integrators.
EnergyCube™ gives battery system integrators a configurable enclosure platform for structural containment, environmental control, and factory-integrated systems.
EnergyCube™ BESS Enclosures for Integrators: Customizable structural and environmental enclosure platforms engineered specifically for battery system integrators, OEMs, and power electronics developers.
Built in-house: AEL is fully vertically integrated. Control panels, container retrofits, plumbing, electrical, fire suppression and HVAC installation, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and powder coating are all done by our own team. See our in-house capabilities.
The EnergyCube™ Difference
We build the enclosure. You integrate the batteries.
AEL provides the energy storage container itself: the structural enclosure and project-specified environmental, fire-system, and control options. Your integration team supplies the battery arrays, inverters, power electronics, and operating software.

Capabilities
Everything inside the walls — built as one system.
-
Fire Suppression Options
Multiple suppression options — dry chemical, clean agent, aerosol, or water sprinkler — with early-warning detection, gas isolation, and deflagration venting. Documentation is prepared to support AHJ review.
-
Thermal Management
HVAC and liquid-cooling manifold options can be reviewed against the battery heat load, ambient conditions, and integrator requirements.
-
Code-First Design
Each enclosure is designed and built to UL 1487 and NFPA 855 standards and the applicable project requirements. For ordered projects, AEL provides project documentation, stamped drawings and an AHJ review package as specified.
-
Factory-Wired Controls
Control panels built to UL 508A, BMS interfaces, and power distribution can be integrated and factory-tested as specified for the project.
-
Custom Fabrication
Engineered to the integrator’s rack configuration and site constraints, from prototype review through coordinated production planning.
-
Project Documentation
Stamped drawings, equipment schedules, and applicable ventilation or fire-system documentation can be included as defined for the project review path.
-
Utility-Scale Deployments
Grid-scale BESS enclosures engineered for utility interconnection and large-format battery arrays.
-
Commercial & Industrial
C&I storage enclosures for peak shaving, demand response, and behind-the-meter applications.
-
Prototype to Volume
From single-unit prototyping to volume production runs — same engineering rigor at every scale.
-
Scalable Configurations
Modular designs that scale with your deployment roadmap. Add units without re-engineering.

Integrator questions
Define the enclosure scope before engineering begins.
EnergyCube projects move faster when the battery integrator supplies a coordinated rack, equipment, thermal, controls, site, and documentation basis.
What is the difference between EnergyCube and Sentinel battery storage?
EnergyCube is an enclosure platform for battery system integrators that supply and integrate the batteries, inverters, power electronics, and operating software. Sentinel is AEL’s walk-in enclosure line for commercial and industrial battery storage, isolation, staging, and charging-review applications.
What does the battery integrator provide for an EnergyCube project?
The integrator provides the battery modules or arrays, rack and service requirements, inverters, power electronics, BMS strategy, grid-interconnection scope, and applicable equipment data. AEL uses the approved inputs to develop the enclosure scope.
What information does AEL need to price a BESS enclosure?
Provide the proposed rack arrangement, equipment dimensions and weights, heat loads, access and service clearances, utility requirements, site conditions, project standards, control interfaces, delivery location, and target schedule.
Can thermal management, fire-system options, and controls be integrated?
Yes, when included in the approved project scope. HVAC, liquid-cooling readiness, detection, ventilation, suppression options, control panels built to UL 508A, and BMS interfaces are selected around the integrator’s equipment and project requirements.
Can EnergyCube be configured around a custom rack layout?
Yes. EnergyCube dimensions, doors, aisles, service clearances, cable routing, environmental systems, and supporting structure are developed around the integrator-defined layout and the approved fabrication and site constraints.
What documentation can support project and AHJ review?
The agreed scope can include drawings, equipment schedules, structural information, controls documentation, and applicable ventilation or fire-system information. Final submission and approval requirements are established by the project team and authority having jurisdiction.
