Platinum Finishing Systems, doing business as AEL ("AEL"), builds its products in Santa Rosa, California. This page is the limited warranty for products ordered through our online store, including Sentinel Mini cabinets and custom units ordered through a store quote. Engineered projects carry the warranty stated in their quotation or sales agreement.
One-year limited warranty
AEL warrants to the original purchaser that the product will be free from manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and proper installation for one (1) year from the date of delivery (the "warranty period").
Electrical and third-party components
Electrical components and other components made by other manufacturers, for example fans, motors, detectors, sensors, controls, lighting, outlets and fire suppression devices, are covered by their manufacturers' warranties, not by this AEL warranty. We pass those warranties on to you where we can and help you make a claim.
What we will do
If a covered defect appears during the warranty period, we will, at our option, repair the product, supply a replacement part or product, or refund the purchase price of the defective item. When we confirm a covered defect, we pay for the repair parts and labor and for shipping repaired or replacement parts to you. Repair or replacement does not extend the warranty period.
What is not covered
- Damage in transit (note it on the delivery receipt and report it to us; see our Shipping Policy).
- Damage from misuse, accident, improper installation, improper storage practices, overloading, or failure to follow our instructions or the battery manufacturer's guidance.
- Damage from fire, thermal runaway, explosion, flood or similar events, including events that start with stored batteries or other contents.
- Loss of, or damage to, batteries, chemicals or other contents stored in the product.
- Products that have been modified, or repaired by anyone other than AEL or someone we authorize.
- Normal wear, cosmetic changes over time, and consumable items such as filters.
- Products used outside their intended application or outside the conditions in our documentation.
Safety and scope
AEL does not claim or guarantee that any enclosure or cabinet will prevent thermal runaway, fire or explosion. Our battery storage products are designed to help contain and manage lithium-ion battery storage risk and to support code compliance. The owner is responsible for proper installation and for approval by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
How to make a claim
- Contact us during the warranty period, within 30 days of finding the defect: call (888) 502-6695 or use our contact form.
- Have your order number, the product model, a description of the issue and photos ready.
- Do not return a product until we give you instructions. Many issues are solved with replacement parts shipped to you.
Limits
This warranty is the only warranty AEL gives for store products and is not transferable. To the extent the law allows, all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the warranty period, and AEL is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
