The standard panel
One panel design across every AEL enclosure.
The AEL CORE keeps ventilation, lighting, airflow monitoring and the purge alarm under one familiar set of controls. Operators get the same layout whether they are standing at a Sentinel battery enclosure, a hazardous location booth or a solvent processing lab: two selector switches, four status lights, a door-mounted disconnect, an emergency stop and a tower light on top.
We design the logic, build the panel and wire it into the enclosure in the same facility, so the drawings, the panel and the room match when they ship. AEL is fully vertically integrated: control panels, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical work, fire-suppression installation (dry chemical and clean agent), welding, sheet metal fabrication, powder coating and our own insulated wall panels are all done by our own team. See our in-house capabilities.
Where the CORE goes
Battery storage, hazardous location enclosures and solvent processing labs.

Ventilation, alarms, suppression interface
Sentinel battery storage
Runs exhaust and alarms on Sentinel lithium-ion battery enclosures, mounted beside the suppression control head.

C1D1 / C1D2 booths and rooms
Hazardous location enclosures
Mounted outside the classified space, with field wiring entering through sealed conduit to fans, lights and detectors inside.

Cube Series and larger
Solvent processing labs
Standard on the Cube Series, where the panel lives on the container exterior and is reachable without entering the lab.
Control scope

Most projects keep the AEL CORE outside the classified space. When the controls have to sit inside a Class I, Division 1 or Division 2 area, we build UL listed explosion-proof control panels on request: cast, bolted-flange enclosures with sealed conduit entries and operators rated for the location, built around your area classification drawing with UL or ETL (Intertek) listed components.
- Panel outside the classified boundary, field wiring through sealed conduit (the usual AEL CORE arrangement)
- Intrinsically safe circuits for sensors and other low-energy field devices
- Explosion-proof motors, lighting, receptacles and devices inside the classified space
- Explosion-proof control panels inside the classified space, built on request
For projects outside North America we build to ATEX and CE standards. The area classification comes from your engineer of record and the AHJ; we build to that drawing and document the approach for review.
- AEL CORE control panels: UL 508A, NEMA rated for indoor and outdoor installs
- Explosion-proof hazardous location control panels: UL listed, available on request
- UL or ETL (Intertek) listed components in every build
- Built to ATEX and CE standards for projects outside North America
- NEC Article 500 documentation for hazardous location enclosure packages
- Factory testing documented to the project scope
-
Inputs
Enclosure type, fan and motor data, available supply voltage, detector make and model, and the area classification drawing when the space is classified.
-
Control narrative and drawings
Sequence of operation, schematics, panel layout and I/O list, issued for your review before anything is built.
-
Build
Panel fabrication and wiring in our own shop with UL or ETL (Intertek) listed components.
-
Factory test
Every panel is function-tested and documented before it ships, so it arrives inspection-ready.
-
Ship
Installed and wired in the AEL enclosure, or shipped as a replacement panel with drawings.

Control panel FAQ
Questions engineers ask about our panels.
What is the AEL CORE CP2000?
The CP2000 is the AEL CORE control panel: a UL 508A purge and ventilation panel, NEMA rated for indoor and outdoor installs. It brings ventilation, lighting, airflow monitoring, the tower light and the purge alarm together in one familiar operator layout. It is the standard panel on Sentinel battery storage, AEL hazardous location enclosures and solvent processing labs.
Is the AEL CORE panel UL listed?
AEL CORE panels are built as UL 508A industrial control panels, and every build uses UL or ETL (Intertek) listed components. Ratings are confirmed for each project on the submittal drawings.
Can the AEL CORE be installed outdoors?
Yes. The CORE enclosure is NEMA rated for indoor and outdoor installs, so the same panel serves indoor rooms and outdoor container labs.
What power does the CP2000 need?
Each CORE panel is built to your site’s electrical service, including three-phase supplies, and its ratings are confirmed on the submittal drawings for your project.
What is the difference between AEL CORE and CORE+?
CORE controls a single exhaust fan and is standard on the Cube Series. CORE+ adds dual-fan control for larger rooms and is standard on the Mega Deluxe.
Do you build explosion-proof control panels?
Yes, on request. When controls must sit inside a Class I, Division 1 or Division 2 space, we build UL listed explosion-proof control panels around your area classification drawing, with UL or ETL (Intertek) listed components. Outside North America we build to ATEX and CE standards.
Can a control panel be mounted inside a C1D1 room?
Only with a protection method suited to the classification, such as an explosion-proof panel. More often the panel sits outside the classified boundary, with sealed conduit into the room, intrinsically safe sensor circuits and explosion-proof devices inside. The area classification drawing decides, and we document the approach for your AHJ.
How do I get a replacement panel or service on an existing AEL enclosure?
Request replacement panels and components through the parts store with your enclosure model and a photo of the panel nameplate. Our service team handles control-panel diagnostics, component checks and gas detector calibration for the leading detector brands.
