Buyer questions

Choose the right series and project basis.

The process, area classification, equipment, footprint, ventilation, controls, site, and documented listing requirements determine the final enclosure configuration. Storing the solvent supply? See solvent storage buildings (FCS™ Series), and the AEL CORE control panels that run AEL labs.

How do I choose between the Cube, Economy Mega, Mega Deluxe, Micro, Exxa, DYS, Zeta, and Degassing series?

Start with whether the project is indoor or outdoor, the available footprint, equipment size, access needs, process workflow, hazardous-area classification, ventilation basis, controls, and expansion requirements. AEL uses those inputs to recommend the closest series and configuration path.

Are all AEL solvent-processing enclosures UL 1389 listed?

Yes, every AEL solvent processing lab is UL 1389 listed. That includes every lab series, indoor and outdoor: Cube, Economy Mega, Mega Deluxe, Micro, Exxa, DYS, and Zeta. The listing covers the US and Canada (cULus), and UL 508A covers the full control panel and enclosure. The Degassing Booth is built to UL 1389. AEL is also UL listed for hazardous location control panels. The labs are built to ATEX and CE standards, the designs have been independently peer reviewed by PSI and PRV Engineers, and every build uses UL or ETL (Intertek) listed components.

Can the enclosure be configured for C1D1 or C1D2 project requirements?

C1D1 or C1D2 options can be evaluated using the approved area classification, process information, equipment schedule, ventilation strategy, electrical criteria, and authority-having-jurisdiction requirements.

What is the difference between a C1D1 booth and a C1D1 room?

A booth is a compact enclosure sized around one process or piece of equipment, usually installed inside an existing building. A room is a larger walk-in space for production-scale work, several operators or multiple pieces of equipment. In the AEL lineup, the Micro, DYS, Economy Mega and Mega Deluxe Series are booths, the Exxa and Zeta Series are large-format rooms, and the Cube Series is the outdoor container lab.

What ventilation and gas-detection options are available?

Project options can include exhaust and make-up air, explosion-proof fan and motor selections, purge strategies, LEL or application-specific gas detection, alarms, shutdown interlocks, flame arrestors, and related control interfaces.

When should a project use an indoor series versus the outdoor Cube Series?

Indoor series suit facilities with suitable floor space, utilities, discharge routing, and installation access. Cube uses an outdoor container format when exterior placement, transportability, or separation from the main process building better fits the approved site plan.

Are custom, trailer-mounted, or skid-mounted solvent-processing enclosures available?

Non-standard dimensions, specialty materials, trailer-mounted, and skid-mounted formats can be reviewed. Final feasibility depends on equipment, structural criteria, utilities, transportation, site access, permitting, and the approved project scope.
